In-Town Message Boards
Hello everyone! I've got an idea that I think might make communication in Guild Wars a little easier in towns and outposts.
Ok, everyone knows how in LA, Drok's, or wherever, there's TONS of spammage on the same things being sold... over... and over... and over yet again. You cannot even hold a conversation with someone via whisper system without turning off All and Trade chats. I believe that if there was a large message board that was accessible in each major town (possibly outposts too) where people could post their "WTB's", "WTS's", and "<insert guild name here> is recruiting friendly people - Have hall and capes - PST!!!11!1one!11's." I think you all know exactly what I'm talking about.
This would be an actual physical object in the game looking much like one of those boards they often have in public places with the little thumb tacks pinning up community events, or a garage sale, or whatever. People could just walk on up to it and see what everyone's selling, or what guilds are recruiting. It would save the town chat for people who are actually talking. This wouldn't have to totally eliminate the Trade chat, though, because if you just wanted sell off an item very quickly, you could just put it up in Trade chat and be on your merry way.
I don't know about you guys, but I am really sick of not being able to carry on a conversation with 2 or more people without scrambling to scroll up and see what they said amidst a tide of "WANT TO SELL CRYSTALLINE SWORD, ALMOST PERFECT MODS!!1!!!11!!!."
So, what do you guys think?

I like the idea. Would also like to have one in my Guild Hall to post messages for other members when I'm not on at the same time.
Don't think it will stop the spamming of trade on the All channel.

I was thinking this idea would be like a board in a town like you mentioned and I think it would be pretty cool. You'd still have the chat on local and etc. maybe not as much though.

Yeah, I think it'd cut down on the spammage at the very least. Plus, it's a cool little extra thing in town to look at. It adds some more environmental interactivity into the game. I think the game needs more of that. It definitely wouldn't get rid of all chat spam, but it'd cut down a little but.
I think it'd be used more for longer term trades, like ones that would probably be more money.
This brings up another idea that I forgot to mention before. I played Anarchy Online for a while, and if you were selling something, you'd just drag the item from your inventory to the chat box and it'd put an in-game link with the item's name in your message. When people would click on it, it would pop up a window (in-game) with the stats and a picture of the weapon or item. I think this would be a great alternative to having to write 2 lines of weapons stats down. Just drag the weapon over to the chat box and let everyone SEE what you hae to offer, not read about it.
What do you think?
